Position Summary

As a Food Production Labourer in our meat production facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our production processes. You will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including but not limited to meat processing, packaging, and maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment. This position is essential to our commitment to producing top-notch cooked and cured meat products for our customers.

Responsibilities

· Meat Processing: Assist in the processing of meat products, which may include cutting, trimming, and portioning.

· Packaging: Safely and accurately package meat products according to company standards.

· Quality Control: Monitor product quality and report any deviations from quality standards to supervisors.

· Sanitation: Maintain a clean and hygienic work area by following food safety and sanitation protocols.

· Equipment Operation: Operate machinery and equipment as necessary, following safety guidelines.

· Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to ensure a smooth production process.

· Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Efficiency: Work efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines. As well as ability to read product specifications based on customer demands.

· Adaptability: Be willing to cross-train and perform various tasks as needed.

· Compliance: Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements

· Previous experience in a food production or meat processing environment is an asset but not required.

· Strong hand-eye coordination and ability to work in a fast-paced & physically demanding environment.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.

· Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

· Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.

· Willingness to learn and adapt to changing tasks and responsibilities.

· Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as required.

· Flexibility to work in different shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary.

Education

· Valid First Aid and/or Valid Forklift Certificates are assets
